Garden Totem Poles

The body of these artistic Totem Poles are made from lengths of Macrocarpa timber laminated together for strength and stability. I then turn them as one piece on my extended lathe which makes them unique. The top adornment is added after the turning is completed.

They are secured by steel reinforcing rods being inserted and glued into the bottom of the pole ready for mounting into a concrete base.

You can choose from one of the original designs, or alterations can be made in consultation with you to your personal taste.

Bowls and Platters

All the bowls and platters are made from New Zealand native timbers with a few made from New Zealand grown timbers like Tasmanian Blackwood and Walnut. All are food safe and oiled with organic oil. If your bowl or platter appears to be drying out apply another coat of oil. Any cooking oil e.g. Olive Oil is suitable. Do not put your bowl or platter in the dishwasher or leave sitting in the sun.

Round Lidded Boxes

My boxes have many uses and come in a variety of woods and various sizes. They have fitted lids and are quite elegant. Others can be made to your requirements depending on the size and availability of wood.

For something a bit different Plum is an unusual wood for a box but looks very interesting with a light pink tinge.

Walking Sticks

The walking sticks are very elegant and are made from native timbers. Each handle and neck is reinforced with a steel rod to ensure strength. They come in 6 different lengths from 31" to 36" to accommodate most people. Other lengths can be made to order.

The correct way to measure for a walking stick is to have the person stand erect in their normal walking shoes with their arms hanging naturally by their side. Measure from the floor to the curve of their wrist just above their hand. This is the most comfortable position to use a walking stick for maximum support.

Walking Sticks

These sturdy walking sticks are made from New Zealand native timbers and have various native timbers in a small contrasting band below the handle. The neck has been reinforced and the base has a rubber foot for safety. We hold sizes 31" to 34" in stock but can make other sizes to measure. NZD$90.00 each plus P&P.

Clocks

Clocks come in a variety of sizes and shapes. I like to use the timber in as natural a form as possible to highlight the grain and colour making an original clock. Some of my clocks are in a more conventional shape but again I choose wood for its grain and colour.

The clocks require one AA battery that lasts about three years and is easily replaced.

Other Products

There are other products which do not come under any of the other headings that are in this category. All are made from native timbers and oiled appropriately. Some have extra embellishments like a Paua insert or an attractive tooling design.

Macrocarpa Table
